From July 7, 2026 to September 30, 2027, Honfleur will present Impressionism in Photography, an open air exhibition by French photographer Réhahn on the gates of the Jardin Public de Honfleur.
Created to mark the centenary of Claude Monet’s passing, the exhibition explores light, reflections and fleeting visual effects through photography. It offers a contemporary connection with Honfleur’s artistic heritage in a town closely linked to the history of modern painting.
The exhibition will be free to access and visible in the public space for more than a year.

A New Open Air Exhibition in the Jardin Public
Displayed on the gates of the Jardin Public de Honfleur, the exhibition invites residents and visitors to discover the works during a walk through the town.
This new presentation continues the story begun in 2023, when Réhahn’s photographs were exhibited in the open air along the Jardin des Personnalités in Honfleur.
A Photography Exhibition Linked to Honfleur’s Impressionist Heritage
Honfleur has long been associated with the birth of Impressionism. Its harbor, estuary, skies and changing light inspired artists such as Eugène Boudin and Claude Monet.
For this exhibition, Réhahn brings together works that echo this heritage through photography. The images are created through real natural effects: water reflections, heat distortion, light, movement and atmosphere.
Some works are shaped by reflections in flooded rice fields or salt marshes. Others are created through the mirage effect produced by heat rising from the ground after harvest. The result is a photographic body of work where the real scene appears transformed before the camera records it.
