In the Collection at Havana’s National Museum of Fine Arts

Réhahn’s Impressionist masterpiece, Illusion, has officially joined the permanent collection of the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes (National Museum of Fine Arts) in Havana, Cuba.
The photograph was unveiled during a special event held on June 25, 2024, with the artist himself in attendance.

Illusion
captures the ethereal beauty of a Buddhist temple near Hội An, Vietnam. It is transformed into an Impressionist vision by the natural heat distortion caused by slash and burn—a traditional farming practice. It was created without any digital manipulation or filters. The interplay of heat waves transforms the temple into a dreamlike vision, echoing the textures and tones of Cézanne’s Impressionist works.

Illusion – 2023

This unique piece stands out in Réhahn’s collection as it departs from his usual focus on human subjects. Instead, the temple takes on a life of its own, animated by the interplay of heat and light. Now a permanent exhibit at one of Latin America’s most esteemed museums, Illusion is showcased alongside iconic works that celebrate artistic heritage and innovation. The photograph continues to draw critical acclaim for its artistry and originality, marking a significant evolution in Réhahn’s portfolio.

Visitors can view the photograph at the Museo Nacional de Bellas Artes, as well as at Réhahn’s Fine Art Galleries in Hội An and Saigon, Vietnam, extending its reach to audiences worldwide.
